AIS represents companies involved in all aspects of interior fit out. With 1,123 offices nationwide and a combined workforce of over 38,000, members carry out over 65% of the work involved in the UK commercial interior fit out, refurbishment and retrofit sector worth over £4.3bn.

Apply for Contractor membership

Full members are contractors and suppliers involved in commercial interior fit-outs. Most members are UK-based, but companies based outside the UK may also apply.

AIS membership is not automatic and applicants are subject to strict vetting procedures. The main criteria for contractor membership is that companies should:

• Have an established track record in the interiors sector 
• Traded for at least two years
• Be financially stable 
• Meet satisfactory standards of workmanship

Our subscription year runs from 1 January to 31 December and first year fees are pro rata depending on when you apply. The relevant subscription and joining fee should be paid with the application (a completed Direct Debit form qualifies); subsequent fees are annually by cheque or direct debit, or by quarterly direct debit. On acceptance, additional information is required for the membership directory and our database profile of members.
